A Little Behind .......... BUT........ Happy Six Months, Paxton!!!!

Happy SIX months to my baby boy!!!  I can't believe he is already half a year old!  Seriously?  Did it go by that fast?!  I think it is going by faster than it did with Anna Claire.  It seems like July 16th wasn't that long ago.  I don't know what happened!  I do know that it has been a great 6 months!  He is growing so much.  He has two teeth and is sitting up.  He seems to be progressing a little faster than his big sister did.  That may be because she was a preemie.  He is scooting around on his belly, not crawling, just scooting.  :)  Its just so cute!  I will admit that I was not just thrilled about having a boy. I had no idea what to do with one.  I know girls.  Not boys.  But this little guy has me wrapped so tight.  I go to mush anytime he looks at me with those big blue eyes and gives me that pouty lip.  I guess its the same way Michael felt with Anna Claire.  He wasn't thrilled about having a little girl and now he is completely smitten.  Here are a few pictures from my phone of my 1/2 a year old sugar pie!

And.... Speaking of Anna Claire.  She is doing good. She had the flu this week.  Yep, not fun!  We were told that the flu shots weren't working for Strand B, which is the one that 95% of people are getting sick with, so we opted out of getting the shot this year.  And well, She has the Flu Strand B.  Michael and I have never had the flu so I didn't even know what symptoms to look for.  We thought she had an ear infection.  I felt bad when they said it was the Flu.  She probably had it for a couple of days before I took her to the doctor.  She is a trooper though!  She never really acts as sick as she is.  She is much better now thank goodness!  I am ready for spring so bad!  Go away Winter!!!! and take all the  germs with you!

I am having a hard time getting her to stand or sit still for pictures.
She is really tired of me snapping them all the time.
So, the pictures I have are action shots that look terrible.  I apologize.

I just want ONE cupcake!

Okay, Obviously these are not the cupcakes that I made last night... BUT  it doesn't change the fact that I am sitting here trying to refrain from eating a cupcake!!  As some of you know, I am trying to loose all this extra weight that magically appeared after I had Anna Claire and then grew again when I had Paxton.  I will admit that I was NOT motivated at all until one day I decided that enough was enough!  I am going to the achieve medical weightloss center in Flowood.  Yep, I guess you can call it cheating.  Cheating or not, since the week BEFORE Thanksgiving I have lost 22 pounds!  Woohoo!!!  I haven't allowed myself to cheat.... much.  With Thanksgiving and Christmas and NewYear's I do not need this delicious looking cupcake.  Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to bring them to work.  I am still tempted!

Yes, this is a PINK walker!  Anna Claire never used her's
and we decided not to get Paxton one.  Well, He likes
it ALOT.  Oh well, as long as we don't post too many pictures,
maybe he won't be too upset with me putting him in a
pink walker when he gets older :)

Sorry about the quality of my pictures. They were taken with my phone.  One day, when money starts to grow on trees, I am gonna get an awesome camera!  My two digital cameras that I have now are not great ones :)

We hope that everyone has a Terrific Thursday and a Fun Friday!

A New Year

I hope everyone had a great New Year's.  I was hoping to start the new year off with everyone in my house sickness free.  I couldn't be so lucky.  Anna Claire came home from daycare Wednesday with the stomach bug and Michael got it Saturday.  Lovely.  BUT the good thing is that Paxton and I didn't get it.  So that is a plus!  I didn't make any resolutions this year.  I can never keep them anyway, so why bother :) ?

Anna Claire started her new classroom on Monday.  She wasn't so sure about it at first.  There were only 2 other kids that moved up with her so she didn't really know anyone except for them.  I am usually kind of emotional when she gets promoted because it means she is growing up.  And that scares me.  This particular move though is getting her potty trained! Woohoo!  I can't say I am sad about that!  We had tried the whole training thing a while back before Paxton was born.  She was doing very good with it until he came.  She got bored with it and we got lazy.  She tells us when she needs to use the potty now so I think she is ready.  I had bought her a potty seat months ago and put it in the living room.  She seemed to use it better in there and I am all for whatever works.  Since she isn't using it as much, it has become sort of a toy for her.  I opened it the other day and there were puzzle pieces in there.  We may have to start over with a new one.  Who knows?

Paxton is sitting up on his own now.  He is a little top heavy so when he gets excited or reaches too far for something, he falls over.  We have a couple of battle bumps from his falling over.  He is doing better with it though.  He wants to crawl so bad.  He looks at his sister running and you can just tell he is ready to be right there with her.  He also has two teeth now, and I am telling you that they HURT! :)  He is down to two breathing treatments a day, one in the morning and one right before he goes to bed.  He doesn't wheeze anymore and he has no cough.  Yay!  I just want him to stay a baby for a long time.  I do not need to get the baby fever any time soon!  Michael will say that I never need to get the fever again, but I disagree!  Someday, just not soon!

Oh Christmas Tree!

I love the holidays BUT  I am glad that they are coming to an end this year.  Christmas got off to a rocky start for our little family of four.  Wednesday night, Paxton started running fever and he was wheezing again.  Michael and I decided for the third time this month that we should make one last trip ( or so we thought ) to the doctor's office before Christmas.  Our doctor diagnosed him as having Infantile Asthma and instead of using a spacer with an inhaler, we are now using a Nebulizer.  They put him back on the oral steroids, and are giving him another breathing treatment that is to make him stop wheezing.  We are going to have to keep him on that one until at least February.  Michael took Paxton and me home and then he went back to Walgreen's to pick of the prescription.  He called me on the way home to inform me that had we not had insurance, it would have cost a grand total of $600.00!  We only had to pay $20.00.  Thank you Lord for insurance.  I promise to never talk bad about the county's insurance ever again!  We thought that this was a fix for our little man, but no that would be too easy. Friday, Christmas Eve, he started running fever again and started throwing up.  At this point, we were getting a little frustrated.  Thank goodness the after hours clinic was open. We loaded up and took him.  He had an ear infection.  I had no idea that he could get a ear infection in one day!  She had just looked at his ears Thursday!  Jeez....  BUT he is on antibiotic for his ear infection, steroids and two different breathing treatments.  Praise the Lord, my baby feels so much better!  I missed my little big man.

On a happier note, we had a wonderful wonderful Christmas!  Michael and I are so blessed to have two sets of family that are involved in our kids lives.  With that said, I am quite sure that Anna Claire and Paxton got WAY too many toys.  We also talked about cutting way back next year.  I went a little over board buying for Anna Claire this year.  I say "I" because Michael kept telling me that she had plenty.  These are the fun years to be a little girl: doll houses, barbies, dress up clothes, tea sets, I could go on and on!  I will say that I like her stuff as much as she does!

We hope that each of you had a wonderful Christmas!!!  We can't wait to see what 2011 has in store for our family!

Random Happiness

I was in Wal-Mart last Saturday and since I was husband and child free, I decided to spend time smelling ALL of the body washes.  I am always rushed to just grab something when I have Michael or the kids.  I decided on the Dial Yogurt wash.  It smelt pretty good.  Since I am impatient and can't wait till I am done with the old , I used my new Apricot and Almond wash.  I would just like to say that it was heaven!  I know it sounds crazy, but I literally used it twice in one shower!

My new Favorite!
Oh yea, and another random happiness of mine:

And I can't forget about this sleeping cutie either :)  Happy 5 months to my Paxton!

It's Official! Not Flip Flop Weather Anymore!

One thing I love about living in Mississippi:  You can wear flip flops well past summer!  Not this weekend though!  It is FREEZING!  I am not complaining though.  Its December... its supposed to be freezing!

With that said, we had a great weekend... INSIDE!  We were planning on taking Anna Claire to look at Christmas lights Friday night, but since Paxton is sick we stayed in.  Our night consisted of McAlisters and going to bed early.  Saturday morning, Michael went to work at the PD and my parents came up to see the babies.  I was so thankful too because I was able to go to Wal-mart ALONE and get all of my grocery shopping done.  Sunday, my sister came and hung out with us for a while.  We opted out of going to church for the second Sunday in a row since Paxton is still sick. When Michael got home from working his church detail, I went to a paint party at my friend Shannon's house. It was a blast!  I am not an artist at all, but it was nice to just hang out with the girls for a few hours without hearing "mommy" all afternoon.  :)

Isn't my artwork lovely?! Just Kidding!
When I got home from painting, Michael and I made cookies with Anna Claire.  It was fun and very messy!  I think she ate more cookie dough than we baked cookies.

The beginning of a royal mess.

I think the pan got more sprinkles than the cookies did.

She had a blast!
My pumpkin is feeling MUCH better!

Sick Baby = Tired Mama

I would just like to start out by saying that I am TIRED!  The past two nights Paxton has been fussing in his sleep.  Wednesday night, Anna Claire was restless too and I assumed it was because they both got in the bed late that night. Last night, Paxton just cried out in his sleep for a good three hours.  I kept going to check on him, but he was sleeping.  Eventually, I just got him up and let him sleep the rest of the night in his swing.  I was tired and was afraid he would wake Anna Claire up ( which is like waking a bear ).  Thank goodness that he can still use his swing!

Today, we decided that another trip to the doctor was in order.  Turns out my little bundle of fussiness has two ear infections from the Bronchitis that he had last week.  He is at work with me until Michael can pick him up.
Look at those eyes!
